This bookmark can be made quickly in just a few easy steps with a few supplies.
You'll need the following supplies. I'll link to some of them below using affiliate links. This is just a fancy way of saying if you decide to purchase something through one of my links, a small portion of the purchase price will go toward helping support my blog at no extra cost to you. (Thanks!)
Supply List:
- Sizzix Big Shot Plus (or another Sizzix cutting machine)
- Sizzix Bigz Die - Fresh Brewed
- Pair of Standard Size Cutting Pads
- Scrapbook Paper
- Glue Stick
- Black Ink and/or Distress Ink
- Alphabet Stamps
- Pen or Marker
- Crop-a-dile
- Eyelets
- Yarn
- Scissors
- Optional: Laminator & Laminating Pouches
Step One:
Select some coordinating scrapbook paper to use with the coffee die.
Place a piece of scrapbook paper on top of the die, sandwich that between two standard size cutting pads, and roll through your Sizzix Big Shot Plus. Repeat as many times as necessary to create different patterned pieces to mix and match when assembling your coffee cups.
Step Two:
Cut a piece of scrapbook paper the size you would like your bookmark to be. You will layer your coffee cup on top of this piece.
Step Three:
To add dimension to your paper pieces, ink the edges. You can simply use black ink if you want a stark contrast, but you can use different color Distress Ink for a more subtle look.
Step Four:
Use a glue stick to assemble your coffee cup. Glue the coffee cup to the paper you cut earlier.
Step Five:
Add your phrase to your coffee cup using stamps and/or hand lettering .
Step Six (Optional):
Laminate your bookmarks. You don't have to do this, but it will make your bookmarks must sturdier.
Step Seven:
Make a tassel. Follow the directions in this post.
Step Eight:
Use a Crop-a-dile tool to punch holes at the top of your bookmarks and to insert eyelets into the holes. Attach your tassel to the bookmark to complete your project.
This bookmark is perfect for marking the next verse you want to journal in your Bible or where you're currently at in the devotion you're reading.
It would also be a great addition to happy mail for a friend! Keep in mind that if you're not a coffee lover, you can simply use another Sizzix die to create a bookmark that reflects you.
