How Nature Inspires My Home Decor

As a brand ambassador for Graham & Brown, I received product in exchange for this post, but as usual, all opinions are 100% mine.
Hey, y'all!  If you've followed the blog for a while, you know that I love to "dabble" in interior design.  I'm not an expert by any means, but I love making my home beautiful.  I like to create rooms where I can just sit, look around, and feel like the room is put together and looks nice.  That makes me happy!  One thing that I've noticed about my decor is that it is often inspired by nature.  I didn't set out to do this, but when I read the description of Graham & Brown's Horizon decor trend, I realized that much of my decor fit this description.

I have found that when decorating any room, I'm drawn to blues.  It's apparent in many of the rooms in my house, and blue is definitely a main color in Graham & Brown's Horizon Trend.

Last month when I shared my gallery wall in my living room with y'all, I'm sure you quickly saw how much I love to decorate with blue.  I mean, I have a herringbone patterned wall, storage bins, and even decor pieces that are blue.  Blue is such a peaceful color.  It reminds me of the sky and the ocean, and both of those are so relaxing to look at.  And the pops of orange remind me of the sun.

Not only do I like to use blue in my decorating; I also like to use wood tones.  I use wood tones through different furniture pieces and even in the color of my leather chair.  And a lot of my decor items are inspired by nature.  I love the feather art that I recently received from Graham & Brown!  These two pieces are the Feather Duo and the Feather Trio.  The shape and color of the feathers are so great.  They remind me of something a friend told me.  She and I kept seeing feathers.  For a while it seemed that no matter where we went, we would find a feather on the ground.  She told me that people believe if you find a feather, it's a sign that you're on the right path in life.  I just love that; don't you?

Next time you get ready to decorate a room, think about all the things in nature you love most and let that influence your decor choices.  If you like those things in nature, there's a very good chance you'll like decor inspired by those things in your home.
