{DIY Collegiate Dry Erase Board}

Hey, y'all!  Last weekend was graduation around these parts, and my husband and I were invited to a few graduation parties.  Of course, I couldn't go to the parties without a gift.  I knew I wanted to give the graduates something special, preferably something they could use in their college dorms in the fall.  I decided to use my trusty Silhouette to create a collegiate dry erase board for each graduate.
I bought a few really cute magnetic dry erase boards from Walmart.  They were about $7 each.
I found a logo image online for each of the colleges the graduates will be attending.  I saved the images and traced the logos with my Silhouette program just like I traced the feathers for my Geometric Feather Art.
I cut the logos from vinyl with my Silhouette.  I weeded the designs and used transfer paper to transfer the logos from the paper backing to the dry erase boards.
I love the way they turned out!
I paired each dry erase board with a gift card enclosed in one of the Graduation Gift Card Holders that I designed.  The graduates really loved their gifts!  I hope that the boards will brighten their dorm rooms a little and help them stay organized.  I know from experience that the first year of college can be tough, and anything that helps with organization can be sooooo useful!  Come to think of it, I probably could use one of these myself to stay organized at school...
