Hey, y'all! I love leopard print. My favorite pair of shoes is my leopard print flats, and I love any excuse to wear a leopard print shirt or accessory. When I saw leopard print beads at Michaels, I just HAD to have them, and I used them to create these really easy-to-make earrings. (I originally posted this tutorial at Through the Eyes of the Mrs.)
You need a few simple supplies to create these earrings.
You need headpins, earring hooks, and beads of your choosing.
Lay your beads out in a pattern you like. I wanted my leopard print beads to be the center of attention, so I paired them with dainty little gold beads. Then I threaded a headpin through them.
Using pliers, bend the extra length of your head pin to about a ninety-degree angle, and use round nose pliers to create a loop like the one in the photo above. (If you don't understand my directions, I'm sure you can find a video on Youtube for creating loops.)
Slightly open the loop you created and attach your earring hook. (I chose to use lever-back earring hooks.) And that's it. Seriously, it's that simple.
I have worn these several times, and I've gotten a lot of compliments on them.
I made a bracelet to match following the tutorial for my Green & Gold Bracelet. The earrings and bracelet make a lovely pair, and they go great with my favorite shoes! They would also be an inexpensive gift to give for any occasion.
Okay my sweet friend, you really aren't helping me!!! I have been avoiding another craft (making jewelry) and you are posting some of the cutest things and now I'm starting to want to make the things you have been showing. I big puffy heart love these earrings. They would be super cute with a colored bead, too. Kim in Texas
Bethany, I love these earrings! I seriously e-mailed your post to my mom to ask her make these for me (she's a beader so she has all of the tools). I want to let you know I featured your earrings on my favorite DIY jewelry roundup today! http://itsalwaysruetten.blogspot.com/2014/03/happy-belated-national-jewelry-day.html
