{Fat Quarter Challenge Review & Giveaway}

Hey, y'all! Yesterday I shared the tutorial for my fabric wrapped dollar store pumpkin with you.
I made the pumpkin with supplies sent to me by Jesse, owner of the Fat Quarter Challenge She asked me to review her challenge by playing along for free.  I love a good challenge, so I happily agreed.
I'm sure you're wondering what the challenge is.  Well, it's a monthly sewing and craft contest. You sign up for the month's challenge and pay a $12 entry fee to compete.  You are then sent a fat quarter and a few other notions to create something for the month's challenge.  You create your project, submit pictures by the 22nd of the month, and on the 23rd, voting opens.  Competitors and the public get two votes each, and the winner of the challenge is awarded a prize.
So now that you know what the challenge is, let me talk about my experience.  I received my fat quarter and notions earlier in the month.
I received this pretty ikat patterned fabric featuring two of my favorite colors.  I also received a small length of pink and turquoise ribbon, along with a length of gold sequins.  I thought all the supplies were very pretty.  My only concern about the supplies was that I could have bought them for a lot cheaper than the entry fee.  I understand, though, that this is not just about the supplies; it's more about the challenge.  Anyway, at first I had no idea what I was going to make with the supplies, but then my pumpkin idea popped into my mind.  I had a lot of fun using the materials in an unexpected way, and I think my pumpkin turned out really great.
I submitted pictures of my pumpkin to Jesse via email, and voting for the challenge opens today.  You can vote {HERE}, so I'd love if you'd take a moment to vote for my pumpkin.  :)  And guess what?  Jesse is giving one of you two months' entry fees--a $24 value--so that you can participate in the challenge for free.  You can enter below.
Good luck, y'all!

  6. Wow. That turned out so chic and stylish. You typically don't see pumpkins so fashionable. What a great project for fat quarters or to use up a stash of fabric leftovers.
