It's the brainchild of Linda from Craftaholics Anonymous. She hosts the gift exchange twice a year, and it's a fun opportunity to make a gift for someone and receive a handmade gift yourself. I signed up for the exchange this summer, and I was paired with the talented Julie from Simply Impressed.
Last week I received the gifts that Julie made for me, and I was so excited about everything in the package right down to the way she wrapped the gifts!
How pretty is the gift bag she decorated?! I LOVE the flower handcrafted from map pages. The card she made was just lovely as well.
Inside the gift bag was a box that contained a beautiful bracelet and earrings made from buttons.
There's a little bee charm tucked in the middle of the pink and glittery buttons. You think she knew what my favorite color was? ;)
And the last thing in the package was this lovely collection of handmade flowers that I can use in my own crafting. Julie is so talented and thoughtful!
I sent her a few handmade gifts as well.
I made her an owl necklace, a piece of art with an owl on it, and a pair of dragonfly earrings. I've already shared the tutorial for the dragonfly earrings here on the blog, and I'll be sharing the tutorial for the other gifts I made as well. I hope she liked them as much as I liked what she sent me! The next Handmade Gift Exchange will be in the winter. If you want to be notified by email when the next exchange begins, you can sign up {HERE}.
looks like you were a perfect match for each other. I love all the jewelry pieces you both made, but I especially LOVE that button bracelet!

ReplyDeleteyou are so talented! love this!
ReplyDeleteThe Handmade Gift Exchange sounds so worthwhile! You each made each other such beautiful, thoughtful things...they almost were similar in style! (Y'all were a great match, then, I guess!) I'm still swooning over those dragonfly earrings you made. And I really love that "smile" card that Julie made. A gift in and of itself!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing this with us!
