{Desktop Note Holder & Free Printables}

It probably comes as no surprise that I like to make things.  But you may not know that I love to give gifts too.  I REALLY love to give a handmade gift to someone, well, anyone really.  :)  Recently, I stumbled upon a blog called My Digital Creations where Lisa made a Teacher's Post-it Note Stand.  I had seen these types of stands on Pinterest before, but seeing her post reminded me of what a great idea they are.  As a teacher, I know that one can never have too many post-it notes, but you know what?  This could be true for many professions.  So I decided to make a desktop note holder for some of my coworkers.  These note holders use very inexpensive supplies, and they are cute and useful!
  I was lucky enough to find free digital paper downloads from Mel Stampz and Dreamlike Magic Designs.  I used their papers and my trusty friend PicMonkey to create 4x6 personalized images.  (The tape strip on the L one came from Free Pretty Things for You.)  I printed out my images at CVS.  (Be careful because some printers like the one at CVS will not print images true to the color on the screen, and they may cut off some of your printable, which is a bummer.)  I put my images in clear acrylic frames purchased at Walmart.  I used double sided tape to stick my post-its to my frames.  (I didn't buy the brand name, extra sticky post-its, so they kept falling off the frames.  That's why I needed the tape.)  Now I have cute personalized desk accessories to give to my coworkers.  Having a new cute item on my desk always makes starting school again not seem quite so bad to me, and I hope it does the same for them!
For some of the note holders, I used regular size post-its, and for some I used mini post-its.  I think I like these with the mini post-its best.
I used a magnetic acrylic frame for one of the note holders.  This is great option for someone who doesn't have a lot of extra desk space.
And since I like giving gifts so much, I made FIVE free versions (utilizing the free papers from the awesome blogs I listed above) for you to download, customize, and print.  Simply click on the arrow with the line under it to download the image to your computer.  Open the image in PicMonkey or another photo editing program.  Add a name, phrase or initial.  Save it.  Print it.  Give it.  Or keep it.  :)  If you are not computer savvy, the last version can simply be printed--no customization is needed.

    These are really lovely and quite useful. If you ever feel like making me one, please go right ahead. . . Lol! It is very nice of you to have made these for your co-workers, but then again, I know what a generous and kind person you are, so it is no surprise! I hope the beginning of the school year isn't too painful for you.
