Good morning everyone! It's the beginning of another beautiful week, and I'm another week closer to school starting back. Don't get me wrong, I love my job, but I don't have a whole bunch of time for projects during the school year like I do during the summer. So the question I have for myself this morning is, "What am I going to work on this week?" Or better yet, "What am I going to work on today?" I have lots of projects I could be working on: some that I am almost finished with and some that I haven't even started yet.
Recently, my husband and I (with MAJOR help from dad) closed in our screened in back porch. This really needed to be done because for five years, I was washing clothes at my mom's house. My house was probably built in the 50's and is definitely a "fixer-upper." We had done a lot of work on it previously, but there was just nowhere to put a washer and dryer. So five years later, I now have a washer and dryer in a nice, big, sunny room at the back of my house. It's hard for me to leave a room undecorated, so I've been working on decorating it.
I found some wicker chairs at my grandmother's house. I liked the bones of them, but I didn't like the color. So I spray painted them black. It took a few coats, but I loved the end result. I believe they look much more modern! (You'll have to wait until the next post to see them!) But...they would look that much fabulous with seat cushions. So today, I am going to make seat cushions for my "new-to-me" wicker chairs. I'm definitely not a seamstress, but I know a little bit about a needle and thread, and I have a sewing machine, which makes work so much easier. I've watched my aunt make a cushion before, and I've seen it done on TV and the web. So I'm going to try it! I'll take pictures along the way and post a how-to later on. It may be later on today if all goes well, or it may be tomorrow if I have trouble! Wish me luck!
